Shannen & Joe: A Grafton Wedding

On September 28th, Shannen & Joe got married at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Grafton, Ohio and celebrated with friends and family at the Columbia Hills Country Club in Columbia Station, Ohio. I had the pleasure of second shooting for Scott M. Duncan Photography. You can check out the rest of my pictures, here.

Shannen told her bridesmaid that today wasn’t about being comfortable while she pinned her veil on.
One of my favorite moments from the day!
One of my favorite things about weddings are the special touches the couple adds to the event to make it their own. My favorite moment from this wedding was Shannen gave a speech about how both her parents and Joe’s parents have been married for 33 years and both of their anniversaries were this week. Shannen goes on to say that her parents were married at the Justice of Peace when they were 18 years old and didn’t get to have a reception or any of those things Shannen got to have on her special day. Shannen then invites her parents out on the dance floor to have their “first dance”.
After Shannen’s parents had their moment, Joe invited his parents up to dance as well. When the song started playing, his mom exclaimed, “Aww it’s our wedding song!” You could tell that his parents are just as in love today (if not more) as they were 33 years ago. I looked over and saw their daughter, Joe’s sister crying next to her grandparents. Needless to say it was emotional for everyone there.
I love the look on his face; he is still so in love with his wife!
Congrats Shannen & Joe! Here’s to 33 and many more years!
