How would you describe your style?
I believe in capturing real emotions. When your bridesmaids are overjoyed about seeing you in your dress for the first time, the way you hold hands with your new spouse, I want to capture that. I want to preserve how you feel on your wedding day. I care about telling your story exactly as it unfolds.
How did you get started in photography?
I took every single film class offered in my high school and decided to study photography in college. I feel at home when I’m behind a camera. I naturally enjoy listening to people’s conversations and hearing their view on the world. This is how I approach my photography.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
I have several favorite parts of the day. But my all time favorite is the looks exchanged between a bride & groom during the ceremony. It seems as if the rest of the world is a blur and they are totally engaged with each other.
What inspires you?
People like you. People in love, people excited to be in love. I’m inspired by love stories of any kind, unusual, boring, and spectacular. People always ask me what I shoot for fun or for myself. I shoot people in love for fun. I think your stories are important. When you two giggle at each other, or when your fiancé looks at you a certain way when you aren’t paying attention, I pick up on those things. I want to understand what makes you tick as a couple so that you can treasure that forever.
What are you like on a wedding day?
On a wedding day, I am ready to go. Before the big day I create a timeline and go over it with you so that everyone is on the same page. I know where to be and what’s going to happen next. This timeline allows me to not worry about the schedule and focus solely on making pictures. Planning ahead of time helps to put everyone at ease. When I’m photographing I’m a fly on the wall. I want to capture your most genuine feelings and emotions, when you don’t notice me I’m able to do this well. In addition to that I am there to help make the wedding day go smoothly, so that you aren’t worried about the little details and you can just enjoy the day. I also love to have fun. Your wedding is the start of something wonderful, you should enjoy your day with lots of laughs and big emotions.
Why do you photograph weddings?
I care about you and I want to do the best possible job for you. I believe in your love story and I want to tell it so that you can always look back and remember how you felt on your wedding day. The wedding is just a small part of the rest of your lives but it’s the beginning of something so special and it should always be cherished.

What’s your favorite wedding related movie?
Too hard to decide! I’ll settle for my top 5, in no particular order… Bridesmaids, The Proposal, Bride Wars, The Five-Year Engagement, and Sex and the City.
What TV show should I be watching?
Orphan Black, Broad City, and The Mindy Project.
Will you be dancing at my reception?
Yes, not as much as I’d like but that’s what the car ride home is for.
