I met Lauren in college at RIT. We actually lived a few doors down the hall from each other freshmen year. Because I was a bit of a hermit my first year of college I didn’t get to know Lauren very well, but I did hear a few things about her and Liam. So when they got engaged I was very excited for them, and even more excited when they asked me to photograph their big day. 🙂
On the wedding day, there was a threat of rain and despite that, Lauren was as cool as a cucumber. All of the bridesmaids were stressing out while getting ready and one of them asked Lauren why she wasn’t freaking out and she said, “Because I’m getting married today.” Yes girl, I love that attitude!
After the beautiful ceremony at St. Peter Cathedral we headed to Frontier Park for portraits, which of course included Lauren & Liam’s dog, Bailey. Following some champagne we went to the Erie Art Museum for the reception, where I heard some of the best reception music of all time. (Mostly because it’s everything I already listen to.) Lauren’s dad was looking for me towards the end of the night and asked jokingly where I was. I told him I was dancing, and then quickly corrected myself and said I was shooting. (I was doing both, as per usual.)
My favorite part of the day was the ceremony. All of the little looks that Liam and Lauren exchanged are the best part of any wedding ceremony! On top of that Liam’s reaction to Lauren coming down the aisle was priceless.
