A Cuyahoga Valley National Park Engagement Session with Rachel & Matt

09.30.14

I had the pleasure of first meeting Rachel a few years ago when my best friend Sarah and her were matched up as suite-mates at Ashland University their freshmen year. It wasn’t long before they became close friends. Whenever I visited Sarah, I saw Rachel. Since moving back home to Cleveland, I’ve gotten closer with Rachel. She is one of the only people I know who still lives in the area. Most of my friends have either moved away or are in New York. I enjoy spending time with her and I really understand why her and Sarah are so close. But alas, this is not about Sarah, Rachel, and myself. This is about Rachel & Matt. (and Toby, their adorable dog).

Rachel & Matt met in college at Ashland. We all knew they were going to get married…it was just a matter of when. So when I first saw their engagement announcement in my news feed, I was so excited! Fast forward a few months later and they booked me as their wedding photographer. I couldn’t be happier! I knew their wedding was going to be perfect and I really wanted to photograph these two people in love.

I was really excited for this engagement session, so it was hard to believe that Rachel could be even more excited. Unfortunately, the weather was against us. This session was scheduled for late August but got pushed back several weeks thanks to the rain. But it was worth the wait. The colors were beautiful and the weather was just right! The Cuyahoga Valley National Park was the perfect setting for these two lovebirds and their puppy!
