Where do I begin with this wedding! From the moment I met Suzie, I knew how much I wanted to work with her and photograph her big day. We hit it off so well that I felt like I was talking to an old friend. I left our meeting and immediately texted my best friend. I said something along the lines of, “She is adorable! I really hope she books me!”. I’m so thankful she did. I didn’t get the pleasure of meeting Jack until the wedding day. I was a little nervous because Suzie had mentioned he wasn’t super into the photography thing. But upon meeting him I quickly realized he was a male version of Suzie..both so warm-hearted and friendly. I could tell within minutes how perfect they are for each other. 🙂
I met the girls in the new Westin hotel downtown and boy, is it pretty. The blue walls and modern touches of the hotel room were so fun to shoot in. After the ladies finished getting ready we headed to the Galleria for some portraits. There was plenty of time before the ceremony to capture the gorgeous wedding details. Suzie had a vision and it really came through. Everything was ivory and gold, it looked like a dream! Instead of the traditional cake, they decided to go with a DONUT tower. Yes, you read that correctly. An amazing, beautiful, tasty donut tower.
I keep thinking that certain parts of the day were my favorite, but they were all so wonderful. Their ceremony was at the perfect time of day, just before sunset. The sun shining down on them was so pretty. I loved shooting portraits of Suzie & Jack. Their emotions and personalities are so infectious. I love to pose my couples and then just let them be themselves. Flirting, laughing, enjoying the moment together…whatever floats their boat. Suzie & Jack’s boat was definitely filled with laughter.
I seriously love these two. To say it was an honor photographing their wedding would be an understatement. I had the best day ever. 😉
I’m obsessed with the baby’s breath bouquets from Life in Bloom!
I have a little love affair with veils.
That light! Cannot get enough of that gorgeous light.
Jack’s mom and Suzie’s mom are two peas in a pod. I loved photographing all of their little (or big) interactions with each other. They were almost just as happy as the newlyweds.
